About Samuel
I'm a master's candidate at the University College Cork in creative writing. I'm delighted to be able to work with students to locate a love for storytelling, for literature, and to develop this love into both a strong analysis and honest creative writing of poetry and prose.

I tutor because I love to share a love for literature. This is where exceptional writing begins, from an intensity of feeling, how The Brothers Karamazov or Death of a Naturalist strike the reader in the heart. We will work to write essays that are organized, critical expressions of an emotional response to the literature. How does the novel, story, play, or poem achieve its effect?
We will take a similar angle to our study of creative writing: how do we, first, begin to investigate what we have to say, and, second, how we construct sound expressions of this voice.
All lessons, in both creative and analytical work, will aim to meet the student on their own ground. We all learn differently, we are all provoked by different features of literature, and these lessons will follow students' curiosities, from where the best work will come.
Lessons are offered in one hour, one and one-half hour, and two hour options.
Lessons are available for ages 13 and older and will be planned to suit each individual student.
