About Monique Simone
I am an LLB graduate and current Bar student with several years of professional legal experience across commercial, civil and criminal law. I achieved First Class results in the majority of my final-year LLB modules. Before returning to study, I worked in courts and tribunals in Australia as a Deputy Registrar, Registrar and Judicial Assistant. Legal research, analysis and drafting formed a significant part of these roles, including drafting legal decisions, orders and judgments and receiving detailed feedback from judges.
Although I have a particular interest in family law, my tutoring is not limited to family law. I can support students with written coursework across LLB subjects, with a focus on developing arguments, structure, critical analysis and clear legal writing.
Much of my own recent writing has focused on family law. I have won two family law essay competitions, the 4PB Alan Inglis International Family Law Essay Competition and the Jo Delahunty KC Essay Competition. I am also a case summary author for the Financial Remedies Journal and Family Law Week, and have published articles in New Law Journal, the Financial Remedies Journal, Family Law Week, Today’s Family Lawyer and Barrister Magazine.
I have over ten years of tutoring and teaching experience. I began tutoring English and Maths as a teenager, including supporting students with additional learning needs. Since completing my LLB, I have provided one-to-one academic and professional writing support to students, graduates and career changers. I have also trained and supervised junior colleagues in my professional roles.
Reading has been a lifelong interest of mine, and I particularly enjoy working closely with written work. I am patient and encouraging, while also giving clear and honest feedback. I enjoy helping people who struggle to get started, organise their ideas or turn what they want to say into clear, coherent and persuasive writing.

How lessons work
Lessons are online and typically 45 minutes. For coursework support, I will spend between 30 and 60 minutes before the lesson reviewing your work and preparing feedback, at no additional cost. This means that our lesson time can be spent discussing your work, rather than reading it for the first time. During the lesson, we can share the document on screen and work through it together.
My approach is positive, supportive and encouraging, while also providing clear and honest feedback. Rather than simply correcting your work, I will explain why I am suggesting changes and help you develop your own ideas, arguments and writing.
I will not write assessed work for students. My focus is on helping you develop your own ideas and an authentic academic writing style, without relying on AI-generated work. My aim is to help you express your ideas clearly and confidently, develop independent legal reasoning and strengthen the academic writing skills you can use throughout your studies.
