• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  I started working in Data Analysis 16 years ago. I am an Economist but since I worked for several large companies with databases, my interest in this role became stronger as the need for more complex analysis arose. I choose to develop this field because I can mix my knowledge in statistics and programming with my skills in analysis.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  Apart from being an analyst, I was a teacher in statistics and economics for many years, so my passion for teaching data analysis began even before knowing I was going to dedicate my life to this subject. I love sharing my experience with others so they don't commit the same mistakes I did.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  I can't imagine working without sharing how I think, which my process of analysis was and how people can interpret my discoveries. In the same way, I like letting my students know how they can apply the same principles to their projects/subjects. I believe a Superprof is someone who makes a commitment with their students, compromising to finish all of the topics planned and answer all of the questions they did.

• Do you have any role models? A teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

  I have split my former teachers into two different models: the ones who like to explain everything with examples and illustrations/instructional support, and the other ones more theoretical. I like being the first ones since I use videos, PowerPoint presentations and games to develop my subjects.

• What are your keys to success?

  For me, the keys to success it's summarized by one word: Engagement. The more you develop a system to engage your students, the better they will understand the subjects.
