About Julian
I fell in love with reading and writing from an early age, but I couldn’t have done it alone. A handful of amazing mentors exposed me to the richness of the English language and the worlds that open up when you read and write with purpose. Of course I’ve had some really boring English teachers as well, but one or two great ones can establish a foundation that stokes excitement rather than fear when dipping into the unknown. I aspire to do that for my students.

My goal is to make the English language fascinating for my students. Too often teachers take an overly pedantic approach which discourages learners and hinders them from their true potential . Learning can and should be instructive AND fun! I adapt to each student’s needs and interests to find stories that speak to them, and from there we will analyze the themes, mood, characters, and how this is conveyed through the text itself.
