About Lorenzo
Hello! My name is Lorenzo, and I've been playing music for over 9 years. I've been very lucky to have worked with some of the best bass teachers alive including Jay Anderson, John Clayton, and Buster Williams. I've also participated in many of the most prestigious music programs including Carnegie Hall's NYO Jazz, and the Ravinia Steans Music Institute. I've just finished my undergrad at the Manhattan School of Music in June of 2026, and I'm looking forward to releasing my debut EP at the end of this year. I maintain a strong belief that devotion to one's craft yields the greatest returns, and I'm excited to help others achieve their musical goals using the knowledge and experience that I have.

I teach both upright and electric bass at all levels, with an emphasis on jazz improvisation. My lessons are tailored to each individual, and my goal is to help you accomplish your musical goals. I've been part of some of the most prestigious high school and college music programs in the United States, and am well equipped to help with auditions and applications for workshops and music schools. My teaching method is based primarily on playing by ear, using techniques such as interval / pitch training and transcription. I also place a lot of emphasis on developing a unique voice on the instrument, in addition to developing technical facility.
