About Kate
I am a graduate student and love teaching others French! I have won multiple awards for French speeches, poetry and much more. I have had the highest standing in French class since grade 6. I love teaching others how to become fluent and comfortable with French! It really is a beautiful language once you learn. I have been speaking French since I was 3, as my dad has a university degree in French immersion. He has taught me all this way, and I want to be able to help others be as comfortable as me while speaking a foreign language!

I really think that in order to learn French, you need to learn it through your mother tongue. Many teachers speak French and expect us to pick up on it like a baby would, but we grew up english. My approach to French is making sure you understand conjugation of verbs in English. This way it does not get confusing trying to explain how to do something in another language. I am very flexible but seeing as I am a student and have my own French work to do, I will try my best to work around others! I want people to learn that French is nothing to be scared of, it opens endless opportunities and can look really great on a resume. It can be intimidating to learn, but once you are comfortable, it actually becomes fun to learn!
