About Canelle

I am freshly graduated with a Master of Arts in English literature with a particular interest in 20th-century literature.

I have taught French in secondary schools in Plymouth and in higher education at the University of Leeds. I have both an academic and professional knowledge of the English language.

Also, I have studied sociolinguistics, translation, and literature for a term at the University of York as part of the Erasmus+ program.

Finally, I have been recruited as an interpreter and a language and transcultural support for a project within a corporate company.

Currently, I wish to carry on helping those who desire to consolidate their skills.

About the lesson

I have a strong interest in languages. I am a native French speaker and I have been studying various languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Scottish Gaelic). This knowledge of several languages is, undoubtedly, an asset when it comes to teaching. It allows for a better understanding of the metalinguistic logics at work when learning a language.

It seems crucial to me to connect languages with their cultural aspect, so that a student can better understand and assimilate them. This is the reason why I always try to arouse the interest of students through the use of cultural resources.

In my opinion, any student can prove to be good in a subject as long as enough attention is given to them. I am convinced that any student has potential and that motivational resources can always extend their knowledge and thus succeed.

My eclectic knowledge and experience of languages allow for adaptable sessions, according to the student's needs and wishes. A conversation in English will always be preferred.

Prices may vary if a student is preparing for an exam in which case the price will be slightly higher insofar as a more thorough preparation is needed on my end.
