About (E) Annalise

My teaching methodology is built on clear communication, integrity, and practical techniques that make learning Chess both effective and enjoyable. I focus on helping students understand the game step by step, starting with fundamentals and gradually moving to advanced strategies. By maintaining open communication, I ensure that students feel confident asking questions and expressing their ideas, which strengthens their understanding and problem-solving skills.

I use real-life examples and case studies from famous games to illustrate key concepts such as openings, middlegames, and endgames. This approach allows students to see how strategies work in practice and helps them apply similar techniques in their own games. I also emphasise critical thinking and decision-making, encouraging students to analyse positions, anticipate moves, and develop their own strategies with confidence.

My goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel challenged, motivated, and inspired. I am dedicated to helping each student grow, succeed, and develop a lifelong love for Chess.

About the lesson

I am a passionate Chess tutor with 10 years of experience helping students unlock their full potential. Over the years, I have taught around 300 students, guiding them from beginners to confident players. My focus is on making Chess enjoyable and accessible while emphasising strong fundamentals, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Throughout my career, I have helped students excel in school competitions, local tournaments, and online challenges. Seeing my students achieve their goals and grow in confidence is what drives me as an educator. I believe every student has the ability to improve and succeed with the right guidance and support.

My teaching approach combines patience, encouragement, and practical strategies tailored to each student’s needs. I use real-life examples, classic games, and interactive exercises to make learning engaging and effective. My mission is to inspire a love for Chess while helping students become thoughtful, strategic thinkers both on and off the board.
