About Calla

I am an experienced English tutor with over 4 years of teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing, specializing in Applied Linguistics. My main focus is on English for Academic Purposes (EAP), helping students succeed in their higher education journey. I work closely with university students and international learners to improve their academic writing, listening, and reading skills. I guide students through writing clear and effective research papers, teaching essential skills like referencing, note-taking, and structuring strong arguments. Understanding lectures and academic vocabulary is also a key part of my lessons. I tailor my teaching to each student’s needs, ensuring they build confidence in all areas of academic English. With years of experience, I understand the challenges of studying in a second language. My goal is to make academic English accessible and manageable. Together, we work on developing skills that will support you throughout your university studies and beyond. I believe every student can excel with the right guidance and practice. About the lesson

My teaching approach is relaxed and friendly, focusing on helping students use English confidently in everyday life. I believe learning a language should feel natural and enjoyable. We practice casual speaking and conversations about daily routines, so you can express yourself clearly and comfortably.

I help students build skills for real-life situations—whether it’s chatting with friends, traveling, or handling personal tasks in English. We work on practical vocabulary, common phrases, and simple grammar that you can use right away. I encourage lots of speaking practice because the more you talk, the faster you improve.

Listening and understanding are just as important, so I include fun activities to boost your comprehension. I also focus on pronunciation and helping you sound natural and clear. My goal is to make you feel confident and ready to communicate in any situation.
