About Cormac
Kia Ora,
I'm Cormac :) I am a 23 year old Teacher Aide from Auckland, New Zealand. I have a BA with a double major in Politics & Int. Relations and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Auckland. My Master's-level research focused on green economics.
I am a native of West Auckland, more specifically the Waitakere Ranges, a very special place to me. I have worked with kids for almost 7 years. My very first job in High School was as an English Tutor, a job I continued on with for almost 6 years before becoming a TA. Working with students is something I'm deeply passionate about. There is nothing more fulfilling that seeing a student grow more confident in their abilities. I want to teach because I strongly believe I can make a difference. I will always strive to ensure students of all levels of learning feel seen & heard and can trust in me that I will help them achieve their goals using a science-backed approach to literacy.

Kia Ora,
My name is Cormac :) I have a BA & MPP (Master of Public Policy) from the University of Auckland. I have almost 7 years experience in Education, working as an English Tutor for 6 years and a teacher aide at a local school for around 6 months. I have experience teaching kids from Year 1 up to Year 11 and have taught everything from the alphabet & phonetic awareness, to grammar & punctuation, to essay writing & creative writing. As a Teacher Aide, I have additional experience teaching structured literacy, a science-backed approach to improving reading, writing & comprehension skills.
I would be willing to teach students from Year 1 -Year 11. Lessons would typically be an hour long, though I would be willing to do less if that worked for you.
My teaching philosophy is always backed by science & what experts know works to improve literacy. Thus, I strive to create lessons that are engaging, fun & multi-sensory. I am a fun, loving & open-minded individual that has worked with kids from a range of different backgrounds and learning levels. I will always provide a safe, non-judgmental & goal-oriented learning atmosphere for my students.
