About Kaitlynn
My name is Kaitlynn! I am a Higher Education Professional who works in Residence Life. I have a Master's degree and I am working on my Ph.D. In my free time, I enjoy reading, crocheting, and playing video games. I think every student needs to not just know me as their tutor, but as a human being. I bring life into my sessions and I don't just get right down to business, I'll get to know you and what makes you click. While it may seem silly, knowing that someone is super into board games helps me in my lesson planning. If someone isn't competitive, I know that gamifying lessons might not work for them. If someone absolutely despises reading, I know that I should adapt the way I tutor a bit to meet their needs. At the end of the day, we are all humans and deserve friendliness and respect.

As a tutor, my main goal is to not be needed anymore. If I can give my student the skills to be able to edit their papers without a tutor, I have succeeded. I do not just proofread- I explain, I teach, and I work with my student in the methods that work best for them. Sometimes, my students only need 3-5 sessions. Other times, they need more. No matter what, I'm here to support my students at every level (middle school, high school, college level, and graduate level).
