About Yilin

Hi there! I am a passionate, patient, and highly structured native Chinese tutor.

Holding a Master’s degree in Data Science and Analysis from the UK, I bring a unique, logical, and step-by-step approach to language teaching. Having lived and studied in Europe for years, I deeply understand the unique challenges non-native speakers face when learning Mandarin—from mastering tones to understanding sentence structures.

My mission is to make learning Chinese clear, enjoyable, and rewarding. I specialize in making complex language concepts intuitive and practical. Outside of teaching, I love traveling, self-studying languages, and photography.

If you have never learned Chinese before, there’s no need to worry. We will start with Pinyin and pronunciation, helping you build a solid foundation in sounds, basic vocabulary, and sentence patterns, so you can start speaking Chinese with confidence.

HSK Systematic Courses (Beginner–Intermediate–Advanced)

My courses follow the HSK system as a complete learning path, focusing on vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Whether you are preparing for an exam or aiming to progress from intermediate to advanced level, I will tailor the focus and practice to your needs, helping you improve both exam performance and real-life usage.

Business Chinese & Workplace Communication

For professional or career-related goals, I offer customized Business Chinese courses, covering workplace communication, meetings and presentations, business emails, interviews, and cross-cultural communication, so you can use Chinese confidently in real work situations.

Daily Life Expressions & Travel Chinese

If your goal is to use Chinese more naturally in daily life or while traveling, lessons will focus on high-frequency real-life scenarios, such as ordering food, shopping, transportation, social interactions, and asking for directions.
I also introduce relevant cultural context to help you better understand how Chinese is used in real situations.
