About Terrence

Hello! My name is Terrence, and I am a professional artist and private online art instructor with over 30 years of experience. I specialize in oil painting portraits, acrylics, and airbrushing, with a deep focus on mastering the fine details of art—from advanced composition and color theory to exact color matching for lifelike skin tones and specialized brush mechanics.

Throughout my three decades of teaching, I have developed a philosophy built on patience, clarity, and personal connection. I pride myself on being more than just a teacher; I am a dedicated mentor and friend to my students. I have found that the best way to master complex techniques is through hands-on instruction, constructive feedback, and immediate, practical guidance.

My true specialty lies in taking high-level, professional art concepts and breaking them down into steps so simple and clear that absolutely anyone can grasp them with confidence. When you work with me, you receive a highly structured, reliable approach to skill-building delivered in a stress-free, deeply encouraging environment. I bring a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for helping aspiring artists unlock their full potential!

About the lesson

With over 30 years of experience teaching privately online, I offer much more than just a typical art class—I am your personal mentor. If you want to master oil painting portraits, acrylics, or airbrushing, I am here to guide you.

My Teaching Method & Techniques
I walk you through the process literally step-by-step. You will learn composition, color theory, exact color matching (including realistic skin tones), and advanced brush techniques. I will show you exactly which brushes to use to accomplish specific professional looks.

A Typical Lesson Plan
Our lessons are highly interactive and hands-on. We will talk personally, and you will receive immediate, constructive feedback on your current pieces. I also provide targeted homework and test your progress so you are constantly growing and never feel stuck.

What Sets Me Apart
I treat my students like friends. I take highly professional, complex art concepts and break them down so simply that a kindergartener could understand them. You get the benefits of professional-level training in a completely stress-free, supportive environment.

Who These Lessons Are For
These lessons are perfect for absolutely anyone—from complete beginners who need concepts simplified, to advanced artists looking to perfect their portraits and color-matching skills. Let's start painting!
