About Vela

I am a dedicated piano tutor with 9 years of teaching experience, guiding students through ABRSM, Rockschool, and university-level piano exams. I hold a Licentiate of Music in Piano (LMusA), which reflects my strong technical foundation and musical understanding. I am passionate about helping each student unlock their creative and technical potential. Every learner is unique, so I tailor my lessons to their goals, whether they aim to perform, pass exams, or simply enjoy playing. I focus on building solid technique, musicality, and confidence through structured exercises and engaging repertoire. My teaching approach combines practical skill-building with creative exploration. I encourage students to experiment with expression and interpretation while developing precise technique. Lessons are interactive, enjoyable, and designed to inspire steady progress. Seeing my students grow, achieve milestones, and develop a lasting love for music is what motivates me most. I strive to create a supportive and motivating environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is centered on building strong musical foundations while keeping lessons engaging and practical. I guide students through structured skill-building, starting with chord progressions and scale work to develop both technique and musical understanding. Rhythmic exercises are incorporated early to strengthen timing and coordination.

I introduce repertoire gradually, selecting pieces that challenge students while keeping them motivated. Real-time feedback is an essential part of every lesson, helping students correct mistakes and grow confidently. Practice routines are designed to be interactive and enjoyable, ensuring steady progress without feeling overwhelming.

I focus on helping students excel in their musical journey, whether they are exploring piano as a hobby or aiming to play contemporary pop styles. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and pace, giving them the freedom to explore music they love. I emphasize creativity, encouraging students to experiment with improvisation and expression.
