About Nina

Hello, learners!

I am an experienced and dedicated tutor with a passion for teaching and a genuine desire to help students achieve their full potential. Having tutored for over three years, I understand the intricacies of different learning styles and strive to tailor my teaching approach to suit each individual. I firmly believe that with the right guidance, everyone can excel in their learning journey.

I take professionalism seriously, so you can expect punctuality, preparedness, and respect in all our interactions. Furthermore, I believe that learning should not be a stressful experience. Thus, I endeavor to create a supportive and engaging environment where mistakes are seen as opportunities for learning and growth.

As your tutor, my ultimate goal is to empower you, boost your confidence, and help you develop the skills needed to achieve your academic goals. I look forward to joining you on your learning journey!

About the lesson

Approach to Tutoring:

My approach to tutoring is rooted in the philosophy of learner-centered instruction. I believe that learning is most effective when it caters to the individual needs, abilities, and learning styles of each student. Therefore, I prioritize getting to know my students, understanding their strengths, areas for improvement, and their learning goals.

Teaching Methodology:

Depending on the subject matter and the student's learning style, I utilize a variety of teaching methodologies. For ESL and English reading, I typically employ a communicative approach, fostering an interactive and engaging environment that encourages students to practice their language skills in real-life contexts. For test prep like IELTS, I focus on familiarizing students with the test format, offering strategic tips, and providing ample practice opportunities with constructive feedback. When guiding students with essay and thesis writing, I employ a process-oriented approach, assisting students from brainstorming ideas, outlining, drafting, to refining and proofreading their work.

Lesson Length:

Lessons typically range from 30 minutes to 1 hour. However, the length can be adjusted based on the student's concentration span, availability, and the intensity of the topic to ensure effective learning.

Qualifications and Experience:

With 3 years of tutoring experience, I have honed my ability to adapt to different learners, break down complex topics, and inspire confidence in students. I hold a Masters in Research degree and have received training in instruction during my role as Teaching Assistant at university, which has equipped me with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively guide students in their learning journey.

Target Students:

I cater to a wide range of students, from high school to university levels and adults seeking to enhance their language skills or preparing for exams. Regardless of the student's age or level, my primary goal remains the same – to empower my students to become independent, confident, and effective learners.
