  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I developed an interest in teaching when I realized how much I enjoyed explaining concepts to my classmates during my own studies. Over time, this passion grew as I explored different fields such as languages, sociology, psychology, politics, and law. Private tutoring became the perfect way for me to share my knowledge while helping students individually at their own pace.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I teach a wide range of subjects including:

English and Urdu (spoken, written, exam preparation like IELTS and B1 test)

Sociology (classical & modern theories, environmental sociology, contemporary social issues)

Education (teaching methods, trends, comparative education)

Law and Human Rights (basic principles, application in real-life scenarios)

Research Methods & Research Proposals (structuring, methodology, academic writing)

Psychology (understanding human behavior, social psychology, motivation)

Politics & Political Sociology (power, governance, democracy, contemporary issues).

I especially enjoy topics where we can link theory to real life like how environmental sociology explains climate challenges, or how psychology helps us understand everyday behavior. The only part I enjoy a little less is when students feel discouraged before they even start, but I always work to rebuild their confidence.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes, I had teachers who inspired me not only with their knowledge but with their kindness and encouragement. They showed me that a good teacher makes learning accessible and enjoyable. That has shaped my own teaching style.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

    A good tutor must be:

    Patient and empathetic

    Adaptable to each student’s style

    Clear and structured in explanations

    Supportive and motivating

    Knowledgeable across the subject

Able to connect lessons to real-life examples so that students truly understand.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

One of my students was very anxious about writing her first research proposal. She felt overwhelmed, but I guided her step by step from choosing a topic to structuring her research questions. Not only did she complete it successfully, but her professor also praised her clarity and depth. This showed me how much difference proper guidance can make in academic success.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

One challenge is that subjects like law, research, or politics can feel overwhelming because of their technical language. Another is that students often lack confidence, especially in speaking English or writing academic work. My approach is to simplify, break things into steps, and give practical exercises so students feel capable and motivated.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

My passion is teaching and knowledge sharing. I love guiding students in different field whether helping them speak English fluently, understand psychology, write a strong research proposal, or debate political issues. Teaching is more than just a profession for me; it’s something that gives me real satisfaction.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P) ?

What makes me a Superprof is my versatility and dedication. I teach a wide variety of subjects English, Urdu, Sociology, Psychology, Environmental Sociology, Law, Politics, Education, Research Methods, and Academic Writing. I design lessons that match each student’s goals, whether they are preparing for an exam, completing academic work, or improving daily communication. My students know me as approachable, flexible, and committed to helping them succeed.
