About Aleksandra
Hi! I’m a Spanish tutor with both an academic and real-world background in the language.
I hold a Master’s degree in Spanish from the University of Toronto, where my studies focused on Spanish language, literature and linguistics. I also spent five years living in South America, which gave me the opportunity to use Spanish in everyday life and develop a deeper understanding of the language and cultures beyond the classroom.
I have previous university teaching experience and also hold a CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), giving me formal training in language teaching and working with language learners.
Professionally, I spent six years working for the Government of Canada before moving into consulting and project management. This experience has given me a strong background in communication, writing, mentoring and working with people from a variety of professional and educational backgrounds.
As someone who has studied languages extensively myself, I understand that knowing grammar rules and actually feeling comfortable speaking a language are two very different things! I aim to make lessons relaxed, encouraging and practical while still providing the structure students need to make meaningful progress.
I enjoy working with everyone from complete beginners to university students and advanced speakers. Whether your goal is to improve your grades, strengthen your grammar, prepare for travel, develop your conversational skills, or simply become more confident speaking Spanish, I'll tailor our lessons to what you want to achieve.
Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Learning a language should be challenging, but it should also be enjoyable.

Whether you're learning Spanish for the first time, studying it at school or university, preparing for travel, or simply want to feel more confident speaking, I offer personalized lessons built around your individual goals.
I hold a Master’s degree in Spanish from the University of Toronto, with an academic background in Spanish language, literature and linguistics. I also have university teaching experience and hold a CELTA teaching qualification.
Lessons can focus on areas such as conversation, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading and listening comprehension, writing, literature, and academic Spanish.
For beginners, we can build a strong foundation while developing practical vocabulary and speaking skills from the start. For intermediate and advanced learners, we can focus on improving fluency, expanding vocabulary, refining grammar and becoming more comfortable communicating naturally.
I can also support high school and university students with Spanish coursework, grammar, reading comprehension, literature and academic writing.
My teaching style is friendly, patient and adaptable. Rather than using the same approach with every student, I'll tailor our lessons to your level, interests and reasons for learning Spanish.
Most importantly, you don't need to worry about making mistakes! They're a normal part of learning a language, and my goal is to create a comfortable environment where you can practice, ask questions and build confidence.
All levels are welcome.
