About Tara
I learned Japanese in Japan, have worked as a Japanese translator, and am presently studying the language as a part of my Master's degree. Since I have lived and worked closely with native Japanese speakers, and have also been studying the language (I am presently preparing for my pre-advanced Japanese exam), I have a strong sense of how Japanese is used in practical settings, and also of the skills required to succeed in class.

I offer interactive classes for people who want to travel to Japan, take the JLPT exam (N5), or simply learn some Japanese for fun! Depending on your aim, the classes will be a combination of learning grammar and vocabulary, and developing listening and speaking skills. If you are travelling to Japan, I can also help you prepare for your trip (like learn about why it's incorrect to say "arigatou" to a train attendant, or the kind passer-by who helped you find your way)!
