About Victoria

I recently graduated from my MPhil in Modern British History at the University of Cambridge, which was where I also did my undergraduate in History. I finished my masters' with a Distinction and a 79 in my Thesis, meaning I am excellent at critiquing and editing long-form writing pieces. I am a very empathetic and bubbly person who is motivated by helping others succeed. I have over a years' worth of experience mentoring for Head Up!, a student collective in Cambridge specialising in supporting disabled school students. If you chose me as your tutor, I would develop a detailed, personalised lesson plan that would suit your needs. I can offer support with exam revision, essay preparation and feedback, factual content, and advice on university admissions.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I understand that everybody learns differently. In our first session, we would establish what sort of format would work best for you, whether that be submitting essays for me to mark and give feedback on or through visual mindmapping. I am especially talented in essay preparation and would help you edit and revise exam essays and coursework essays. I am a very patient tutor and no problem is too small! For me, the most important thing is that you feel supported as a student. We would put together a list of goals at the beginning and work through them throughout our sessions, with regular reviews of your progress and performance. I would describe my style as coaching and mentoring - I would help you get to the right answers rather than give you all the answers. I find that this produces better results and will make you more confident academically.
