About Clémence

Belgian student in double History and LLCER Arabic at Sorbonne University, I have already completed a first year in History and Art History with Great Distinction (= Very Good) at the University of Namur (Belgium) as well as a year of Superior Conservatory in cello also with Great Distinction. Passionate about the links to be created between the European world as taught in a traditional way in History and Eastern civilizations, my goal is above all to be humanist and to give History a very current dynamism. I am not at my first lessons, since I had the opportunity to give private and group lessons within the framework of the Belgian ASBL Schola Nova, where my enthusiastic pedagogy was particularly reasoned among students of humanities (college and high school).

About the lesson

My methodology consists above all in a subtle mixture of enthusiasm and rigor. Thus, depending on the subjects covered, I start with a theoretical reminder of the knowledge essential to understanding as well as a global contextualization, which I will bring into play throughout the lesson. Then, I approach the skills necessary to acquire in order to carry out a requested exercise and always maintain the links with theoretical knowledge. This linking of theory and practice really constitutes the axis of the lesson. I then ask the pupil for an exercise in personal reflection on the subject addressed and introduce the essential keys for the next lesson, while insisting on the continuity of the material. Thus a typical course turns out to be a mixture of pure methodology, theory, practice and discussion, in order to underline the concrete side of the subject matter and to embody it in a solid basis. Two key words to remember: rigor and enthusiasm! I prefer courses at college and first years of high school (and primary if necessary).
