Medical student looking forward to teaching sciences - School science tutor with Nyveka

Nyveka was one of the medical students that attended the PBL sessions I facilitated during the last few months. Nyveka demonstrated exceptional commitment and passion for knowledge. She was eager to learn and was actively participating in the these sessions. She was taking initiatives, more than expected for her junior level, but at the same time she was respectful towards the other medical students. She was always well-prepared for the sessions. She demonstrated excellent communication skills and overall was a very good and pleasant participant. She is not known to have missed any of the sessions without a good reason or a timely notification.

Since October 2021, I am Nyveka’s MBBS Year 1 MEDPRO supervisor at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. Based on our previous meetings, I found that Nyveka is a very intelligent and responsible student. In her spare time, she volunteered to join teddy bear hospital and speak with primary school students to promote healthy eating and reduce their fear for visiting doctors. In her own reflection, she found that the interactions with young children and school students very positive and rewarding.
