About Catherine

I have taught adults and youngsters for many years both in Mexico, where I lived, studied and worked as an EFL teacher and translator for 12 years, and in the UK. I have also studied in Spain. I am a former examination officer. Since lockdown I have been teaching adults and young people preparing for examinations (mostly online). I can provide references from satisfied students and am proud of my success rate.

About the lesson

I tailor my classes to suit the needs and learning styles of my clients. For example, some examination students may need particular support in, say, listening comprehension development, while others will wish to develop essay writing skills or literary appreciation. In contrast, individuals and couples learning Spanish in order to integrate within a Spanish-speaking community will focus primarily, but not exclusively, on developing communication skills in both informal and formal situations.

I firmly believe that successful learning can only take place when tutor and student are able to work together with mutual trust. It is also important to have fun!
