About Léa
I am a French native, who just recently received UK teaching qualifications from the University of Portsmouth, as well as a Masters for teaching French as a second language, from the University of Lille. I am soon going to move to Kuwait and I am excited to continue teaching French this summer! Before moving to the UK, I received a B.A in English (History, Literature, Linguistics...). I also studied abroad in Georgia, USA at Georgia College & State University. My life as been driving by travelling, discovering new languages and culture while teaching my own.
I have started teaching French to refugees as a volunteer, then taught a small group of ERASMUS students through ESN, and finally pursued teaching qualifications. I started by doing an internship at University level and later did a PGCE, teaching Y7 to Y11. I would also be able to teach A levels, as I have strong knowledge of the curriculum through observations, even though I did not have the opportunity to teach it in a classroom setting.

Having done a British PGCE, my teaching methods are those of a UK trained teacher. I am very flexible, and I have taught online after school closures, due to the current pandemic. I always base my lessons on my students' skills. My personal goal is, before working on more technical grammar, to give confidence to my students, allowing them to achieve a certain fluency in a foreign language. I try to use authentic material as much as I can, as I believe a language can't be dissociated from a culture (or several cultures!). And on top of everything, I always do my best to make my lessons FUN!
