About Max
I am a passionate chess coach with extensive experience in both competitive play and teaching. My lessons are fully personalized, designed around each student's goals, current skill level, and individual learning style.
I focus on building a complete chess foundation by developing tactical vision, strategic understanding, opening principles and preparation, endgame technique, calculation, and practical game analysis. Rather than simply teaching moves to memorize, I help students understand the ideas behind every position so they can think confidently and independently.
Whether you're taking your first steps in chess or aiming to achieve a higher rating, I offer structured, engaging lessons with clear explanations, practical exercises, and a supportive learning environment. My goal is to help every student improve consistently, build confidence at the board, and develop a lifelong enjoyment of the game.

I discovered chess at the age of four, and what began as a childhood fascination quickly became a lifelong passion. Since then, I've competed in numerous regional and national tournaments, gaining valuable competitive experience and a deep understanding of the game.
For the past six years, I've been helping students of all ages and skill levels improve their chess. I particularly enjoy working with young players, creating a positive, engaging environment where learning is both challenging and enjoyable.
My teaching is tailored to each student's goals, experience, and learning style. Instead of relying on memorization alone, I focus on developing the skills that truly matter: pattern recognition, tactical awareness, strategic thinking, calculation, decision-making, and practical play. My aim is to help students become confident, independent players who understand why the best moves work—not just what to play.
Whether you're learning the basics, preparing for tournaments, or striving to reach your next rating milestone, I'll provide a clear roadmap, personalized guidance, and proven training methods to help you unlock your full potential and enjoy the journey along the way.
