About Jessica Mai

Hiya, I'm Jess. I am a second year Modern History and Politics student at the University of Southampton. My mum is a foster carer, and often than not I was always the oldest, so I always helped my siblings with school work. I am one of those lucky people who could easily process academic work, and I have always strived to help others out.
I have severe anxiety and depression, so I completely understand and sympathize with exam stress, this is why I aim to make learning content less stressful. I even want to be seen as your friend, someone who you can reach out to at any times, even out of our sessions if you are extremely struggling.

About the lesson

My lessons will be either 30 minutes long or an hour long depending on how comfortable the student feels with the subject.
My hour lessons will be broken up into two parts, with a 5 minute break in between so the student can grab some water etc...
I will be using powerpoints which my students can easily access notes off of. I colour code every thing as well, so this will be easily accessible for students. When it comes to key dates and scholars, I will create a document with these in, and there will be regular quizzes.
Ideally, I would like to teach GCSE and A-Level students, as I feel comfortable with the material.
I am a second year university student, so I understand the pressure of these exams, so as a result my lessons will give students a bit of ease, and will create less stress.
