About Lorie
Hi! I'm Lorie, a certified Montessori & TEFL English teacher with over 20 years of international teaching experience. I've taught children from the Middle East, Asia, and beyond, helping them gain confidence, fluency, and a love for English. I decided to become a teacher because I believe every child can enjoy learning and succeed when lessons are personalized, engaging, and connected to real-world experiences. My Montessori background taught me the power of student-centered learning, and my TEFL training helps me make English accessible and fun for young learners of all levels. I'm passionate about helping children overcome struggles in reading, speaking, or pronunciation and watch them grow not just academically, but also in confidence and curiosity. Every student I teach is unique, and I make it my mission to tailor lessons to their interests, goals, and cultural background, so learning English feels like an exciting adventure rather than a chore.

My lessons are interactive, story-based, and student-centered, designed to help children speak confidently, improve reading comprehension, and enjoy learning English!
Here's a typical lesson:
1. Warm-Up & Conversation - short speaking activity to build confidence and pronunciation
2. Story or theme-based activity - interactive reading, dialogue, or role-play
3. Language focus - vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation in context
4. Practice & Games - quizzes, exercises, and interactive challenges
5. Reflection & Feedback - review key learning points, celebrate successes, and set goals for the next lesson
I also use the FunClass online platform, which allows students to replay lessons, track progress, complete quizzes and homework, and grow their XP-powered study buddies. This makes learning fun, motivating, and measurable, while parents can monitor growth and achievements!
My approach is different from traditional tutoring because it focuses on real-life communication, cultural connection, and personalized learning, not just memorization.
