About Emily
With 7 years of experience as a piano tutor, I teach high school students, college students, and adult learners. I have taught around 300 students, each with different musical backgrounds and learning styles.
My teaching philosophy is centred on personalised learning and positive motivation. I believe that every student can succeed when lessons are adapted to their pace and comfort level. I focus on making piano lessons clear, enjoyable, and practical.
In my classes, I emphasise piano basics such as proper posture, finger strength, rhythm control, and sight-reading. I also introduce music theory in a simple and easy-to-understand way. I encourage students to apply techniques to real pieces so they can see real progress.
One of my proud achievements is helping students stay consistent and motivated. Many learners who struggled at first have gained confidence and skill through regular practice and guidance.
My goal is to create a calm and encouraging learning environment. I aim to help every student enjoy piano and grow both musically and personally.

My teaching approach for piano is student-focused and practical. I believe strong communication helps students learn faster and with clarity. I take time to understand each student’s learning style and adjust lessons accordingly. This flexible approach helps students feel comfortable and supported throughout their learning journey.
I include real-life examples such as popular songs, exam pieces, and live performance situations to show how piano skills are applied outside the classroom. Case studies of well-known pianists help students understand musical growth and motivation. Lessons combine demonstrations, listening activities, and hands-on practice for balanced learning.
In addition to piano lessons, I teach music theory, harmony, scales, chords, rhythm patterns, sight reading, and ear training. Students also learn practice planning, finger strength exercises, and coordination techniques. My goal is to help students develop musical confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for piano.
