About Josh
I have a BA with Great Distinction in Philosophy, a Certificate in Ethics, Justice, and Law, and a BA Double Honours with High Honours in French and Philosophy all from the University of Saskatchewan (part of the U15 group in Canada). I've also spent 1.5 years studying at Sorbonne Université in Paris. I am currently at the University of Edinburgh pursuing a Masters in Philosophy.
Aside from school, I have had various teaching positions: starting with four years teaching Tae Kwon Do, I then taught French tutorials at University for many semesters and then tutored children English while based in Paris.

I have been inspired by the Jacotot method -- rather than being the "stultifying master" who controls what the student can and cannot learn, which is often the case in traditional education, it is better to be the instructor who helps guide the student as they discover. Of course, structure to some extent is required, but it is better to enter into each lesson with an open mind allowing the student to tell me what they know, what they want to know, and why they might have trouble knowing it, and then guiding them from there.
