About Kelsey

My name is Kelsey and I am from South Africa. I am currently a Masters of Social Science candidate whose life passion and experience lead for my research to focus on the transition into university. My postgraduate studies has been in anthropology, but I have also studied psychology and history in my undergraduate degree, as well as being a member of the Golden Key International Honours Society. I have worked as a tutor for my university, Rhodes University, Anthropology department for four years. I really enjoyed my work as a tutor, and eventually as Senior Tutor, in working around the creation of assessments, rubrics and sourcing course material. Most of all, however, I enjoyed working with students, whether in a group or in individual sessions, helping them understand content and develop their academic literacy.

About the lesson

Customized online tutorials based on what you, as my client, require. I teach in English on Google Meets and prefer to work with undergraduate students. When you book with me, we will discuss what you require from me and how I can create the best possible tutoring situation for you, whether it a prepared presentation or a collaborative discussion - I am flexible and have both work experience and academic knowledge on how to make you an 'academic weapon'.

I offer assistance in the following:
-Making sense of anthropology, psychology and history content
-Essay writing skills, including referencing skills and proofreading essays
-Honing academic reading skills to create a critical and analytical mind
-Training in how to conduct research, from proposal to analysis
-Preparing for presentations
-'Silent curriculum' training- helping you to break down what the syllabi and assessments are asking from you

And more.
