About Steven

Hi, I'm Steven Medina DJ, producer, and Ableton mentor with over 11 years of DJ experience and 7 years of music production experience.

I've released music on international record labels, had tracks chart on Beatport's Tech House charts, and recently landed my first film sync placement. Everything I teach comes from real-world experience creating, finishing, and releasing music—not just watching tutorials.

Whether you're opening Ableton Live for the first time or you've been producing for years and feel stuck, I'll help you build a workflow that makes producing enjoyable and productive.

My lessons are completely personalized and can help you learn:

* Ableton Live from the ground up
* Drum programming and groove
* Basslines and melodies
* Mixing and sound design
* Arrangement and finishing tracks
* Professional production workflow
* Creative techniques used in modern house and tech house music

I don't believe in generic lesson plans. Every student learns differently, so every lesson is tailored to your goals, experience, and musical style.

If you've spent hours watching YouTube videos but still can't make your tracks sound the way you want, you're not alone. My job is to bridge that gap with clear explanations, hands-on guidance, and honest feedback that helps you improve faster.

My goal isn't just to teach you how to use Ableton—it's to help you become a confident producer who can create and finish music independently.

Whether your dream is releasing music, DJing your own productions, or simply making tracks you're proud of, I'd love to help you get there.

One thing that will really catch students' attention is adding a sentence that many tutors can't honestly say. Since you've released music on labels, charted on Beatport, and earned a film sync placement, you can lead with results instead of credentials. That's often more compelling than simply saying you're "passionate" or "experienced."

My goal is simple: to help you become an independent music producer who understands why things work not someone who just copies tutorials.

Every lesson is personalized to your current skill level, musical goals, and learning style. Whether you're opening Ableton Live for the first time or you've been producing for years and feel stuck, we'll build a roadmap that gets you making professional-quality music faster.

I believe the best way to learn is by creating real music. Instead of overwhelming you with theory, we'll apply every concept directly to your own projects so you leave every lesson with practical skills you can use immediately.

What You Can Expect

Each lesson is structured around clear objectives and hands-on practice. A typical session may include:

* Reviewing your progress since our last lesson.
* Identifying what's holding your tracks back.
* Learning one or two new production concepts.
* Applying those techniques directly inside Ableton Live.
* Receiving personalized feedback on your music.
* Setting achievable goals and exercises to complete before the next lesson.

As you progress, lessons evolve with your abilities, ensuring you're always challenged without feeling overwhelmed.

Topics We Can Cover

Lessons can include:

* Ableton Live workflow and navigation
* Writing and arranging full songs
* Drum programming and groove creation
* Bassline and melody writing
* Sound design using Ableton instruments and synthesizers
* EQ, compression, saturation, reverb, delay, and other mixing techniques
* Vocal processing
* Automation and creative effects
* Sampling and audio manipulation
* Building professional transitions and drops
* Music theory for electronic music
* Finishing tracks instead of leaving unfinished ideas
* Developing your own unique sound

My Approach

One-size-fits-all lessons don't create great producers.

I focus on identifying exactly where you're getting stuck and helping you overcome those obstacles with a clear, step-by-step process. You'll receive honest, constructive feedback throughout every lesson so you always know what to improve next.

You'll also learn the professional workflows, shortcuts, and production habits that I've developed through years of producing, releasing music internationally, and working with artists. My goal is to help you work more efficiently while achieving cleaner, more polished results.

# Who These Lessons Are For

These lessons are ideal for:

* Complete beginners who want to learn Ableton Live properly from day one.
* Intermediate producers looking to improve the quality of their music.
* DJs who want to start producing original tracks.
* Artists struggling to finish songs.
* Producers who want personalized guidance instead of spending countless hours searching through YouTube tutorials.

What You'll Leave With

By the end of our lessons, you'll have more than just technical knowledge—you'll have a repeatable workflow, increased confidence, and the ability to produce music independently.

My goal isn't to make you rely on lessons forever. It's to give you the skills, mindset, and confidence to create professional music on your own and continue growing as an artist long after our sessions are finished.
