About Nyle
I hold bachelor's and master's degrees in music, and I am currently working on a PhD in music and sociology. I am an experienced performer having gigged with bands in the UK and abroad, and I have experience as a musical director. I have also worked with community groups, providing workshops and access courses.
For me, music is a social activity, and I bring that approach to my tuition. Music is something I love, and not just something I 'do'; one of my earliest memories is playing air guitar to the Stereophonics, and having Friday night discos in the living room. You will find no musical snobbery in these lessons: I'm far more interested in the personal benefits of making music than any prescribed ideas of doing things 'right' or 'wrong'!
My goal is to inspire others to have confidence in their own abilities, and to work together to establish goals that reflect the student's own ambitions, whether that's getting up at a local blues jam or learning to play a Beethoven sonata.
I enjoy travelling, learning, and good food (and wine!), and I'm always my happiest when I'm outside in nature.

I teach piano, saxophone, music theory, composition, performance, and additional tuition for GCSE and A-Level. I also provide accompaniment and rehearsals for graded examinations, and I am available as an accompanist for recitals, rehearsals and choirs.
My approach to teaching is always student-centred and focuses on the student's goals. I have experience in both mainstream and special education and pride myself on providing an inclusive and accessible learning environment. I work to the student, whether that's learning material for grade exams, catching up on GCSE revision, or gaining confidence in having a jam. I teach ages 14 and older, though I particularly welcome adult learners. No one is ever too old to do what they've always wanted! Lessons can take place in person or online, and I offer 30-minute and 1-hour sessions.

Details
Lessons are charged at £30 per hour, or £15 per half an hour. Concessions are available for university students.
