About Jesse
I have been giving guitar lessons since my sophomore year of high school. I mostly teach kids ages 5-18. I've had a total of about 15 students over the past 3 years, many of which have been taking lessons with me since the beginning.

The most important thing about learning a new instrument is that if you don't enjoy it, you won't be driven to play it. I start my lessons by making sure my students have an appreciation for the guitar. Then, I build my lessons around what the student most enjoys listening to or playing. I've had students requesting to play classical music on an electric guitar, hard rock on an acoustic guitar, and everything in between. I've even had students that have refused to learn other people's music and insisting upon writing and recording their own songs. Anything the student requested I could show them but I would never stray away from the fundamental components required to master such an amazing instrument. I can classically train students from books on reading and theory, and I can teach them the chords to their favorite songs. It is all up to you!

Details
I recommend that students between ages 5-10 should start with 30-45min lessons because younger kids tend to lose focus more easily. For this, my rate will vary.
