About Irobosa
I have a First Class Honors degree in Music from the University of Durham, a QS Top 100 University and UK Top 3 Music School. I graduated third in my cohort of 60 and won the Rosalind Dickinson Prize for my efforts! Moreover, I am starting an MA in Music (Ethnomusicology) at the University of Toronto, where I will be a Graduate Teaching Assistant for two modules! I am friendly and am always ready to hear your concerns!

***Who Are These Lessons For***
These lessons are for beginner music theorists all the way to university-level music theorists. There is no assumption of prior knowledge, and students do not need to know how to read music prior to lessons. All they need is enthusiasm and curiosity.
***What Sets Me Apart***
I try to make my lessons as fun as possible! I teach through silly and relatable (age-appropriate) analogies to make concepts easier to understand, and I listen to the concerns of the students (and their guardians) alike.
***A Typical Lesson***
1. I would normally start off a lesson by understanding a student's basic knowledge of a subject or topic matter. I do this to understand where the gaps are, and how to explain a concept to a student appropriate to their level.
2. After I understand that, I would normally introduce the chosen concept, using manuscript paper and illustrations to make it easier to understand.
3. Once a student has understood a concept, I create exercises to *apply* that knowledge. For example, if I had been teaching the student about note groupings, I would then make up a few exercises on the spot so that the student could try the concept.
4. After the exercises and I make sure the student understands the information, I end the lesson by asking a student what they learned and ask them to summarize the lesson. Importantly, I also ask students what they think went well, and what they think they needed to improve.
5. I would then (depending on the topic and ability of the student) set the student a *pre-task* for the next session - this could be a short reading task, or a short set of exercises to attempt.
