About Maria
I am Maria Flores, a performing violist with orchestra and small ensemble experience. My studio is patient, encouraging, and built around your chair placement and audition goals. You will receive a short video of each new technique every two weeks. I am organized, warm, and genuinely proud when your tone clears up. Your confident section playing matters most to me.

I check your shoulder rest fit and elbow angle during a two-octave C major scale first. A typical 55-minute session includes open-string bowing with a tuner, finger pattern exercises, shifting drills between positions, etude work for clean string crossings, and a fifteen-second recording of your most improved measure. My specialty is eliminating scratchy bow changes and improving intonation on the lower strings. My students include 4th through 12th graders, regional youth orchestra members, and adult community ensemble players.
