About Mel
Greetings! What a joy it is that you have clicked on this ad!! I'm Mel. I've been singing before I could talk. In my early years, I spent a lot of time with vocal coaches and in school choirs in Texas. I am a 4-time Texas all-state choir second soprano and landed a full vocal scholarship to Baylor University. After a bit of life, I ended up starting a Christian rock band with my husband and we spent nearly 10 years traveling the country and performing live for smaller, at-risk communities. I have mentored hundreds of artists, helping them step up their live show along with ear-training to improve the quality of their singing voice. I currently teach at School of Rock and have developed a profound love for it! My very favorite thing has become helping my students reach their goals and walk into their full potential!!

Come ready with a song in mind that you want to learn!! Your lessons will consist of the following: -3 to 5 minute warm-up for the voice -a listen-through of you singing the song you have chosen -a time of constructive feedback -techniques on how to reach notes/fix issues -a small amount of music theory and how it correlates to the song -a two minute warm down -all notes emailed to you after your lesson for future practice If you are looking to step up your vocal game or live performance, I am the right tutor for you!! I have traveled across the US from one corner to the other and performed for 30+ years. I have been teaching music for over ten years. I have experience teaching many different genres and ages of students. No one is too old or young, too loud or soft, too experienced or inexperienced. From worship singers to rock singers, musical theater singers to growlers and screamers, I can teach you to do it effectively and safely!! Taking lessons with me will assuredly help you become the very best singer you can be and help you reach your goals!
