About Liya

I'm a native, female Chinese residing in lively Shanghai, preparing to commence my master's degree journey in Auckland, New Zealand this November.
As a passionate sports enthusiast, I find immense fulfillment in engaging in various physical activities such as long-distance running, cycling, badminton, and mountaineering. The prospect of experiencing skiing in the picturesque landscapes of New Zealand fills me with anticipation.
Beyond sports, I have an unwavering love for traveling, having explored eight countries already, with plans to continue exploring more in the future. The opportunity to immerse myself in diverse cultures and behold the beauty of different landscapes is a constant source of enrichment.
Additionally, I possess a fondness for dogs, cherishing their loyalty and companionship.
I look forward to connecting with like-minded individuals, engaging in various discussions and helping you learn Mandarin Chinese easily and enjoyably.

About the lesson

Teaching method:
* Be in Real-Life Contexts: Design lessons that simulate real-life situations, such as travelling to China and speaking with locals, ordering food at a restaurant, or shopping at a market.
* Incorporate Cultural Elements: Integrate Chinese culture and traditions. Introduce Chinese festivals and tell you the origin of them.
* Multimedia Resources: Use videos, audio clips, songs, and podcasts to expose students to authentic Chinese language and culture.

What sets me apart:
* Four years experience in teaching, fully understand students’ needs and cater to their emotions
* Native Chinese and will be arriving in Auckland for master study, there will be no jet lag
* Interesting and relaxing way of teaching
* I have interviewed many people so I can do mock interview in Chinese for you
