About Remco
I am a Data Science graduate from Amsterdam with 3 years of Web Development besides my study. In addition, I have been doing Mathematics tutoring for 5 years just because I love the subject and like to encourage students to do the same. I love tutoring in general so given the chance to teach my native language to other people excites me a lot!

I would say my teaching methodology is completely dependent on the student, which might sound a bit vague so let me explain. Some students just require the necessary motivation and structure to succeed and do not actually struggle to grasp the subject. Others actually find it hard grasping the subject and need more help to divide problems in smaller subproblems to simplify and tackle the problem. I base my lessons on the students needs and work from there.

My Strenghts as a tutor:
I always require myself to fully grasp the subject myself before teaching it to somebody else. In addition, I enjoy simplifying my way of teaching as much as possible, because for me personally that is the easiest way to learn (to make it simple and visual). I like to vary the ways I teach and make it a fun experience for the student.
What Do I Enjoy Most About Tutoring:
I love being able to teach the knowledge I have to somebody else. To see that person improve and also try to give them the ability to enjoy the subject they might have previously hated. I like meeting new people and building a long term relationship with them. If they trust you as a person in tutor it is much easier to teach somebody something new.
Most Important Things I can do for a Student:
Not only teach the student to learn the subject with you, but also let them enjoy learning the subject and show them how to study themselves. In addition, make them feel to be in a trusted environment where making mistakes is only good, because you can only improve from them.
