About Rachel
During my time teaching English in Brazil, I worked with students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced speakers. This experience allowed me to adapt my teaching style to different learning needs, helping students build confidence and improve their English in a way that felt natural and engaging. My background as a therapist and social worker has given me strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to create a supportive learning environment—qualities that naturally complement my teaching. In my leisure time, you’ll find me running, at the gym, skydiving, or enjoying anything active and outdoors—whether it's hiking, waterfalls, or ocean dips. I also love traveling, coffee, and quality time with friends and family.

In my conversational English lessons, I tailor discussions to each student’s goals, whether they want to practice everyday conversations or explore more in-depth topics like emotions, relationships, or personal development. Just as in my therapy work, I prioritize active listening, empathy, and encouragement to ensure students feel comfortable expressing themselves. These conversations can help students maintain their English skills, expand their vocabulary in new areas, and build confidence in both formal and informal discussions. My goal is not just to teach English but to create a space where students can communicate confidently and enjoy the learning process.
