About Melissa

As an English teacher in Seoul, I taught elementary and middle school students at Chung Dahm Institute, spent a year at a Korean middle school under the Seoul Ministry of Education's English program, and 4 years at universities. I still remember one of my
very first students thanking me for helping her get a very competitive position at IBK, a well-known Korean bank!

About the lesson

I taught English (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) to Korean students for six years while living in Seoul. The most important goal for my students was for them to gain confidence and be okay with making mistakes; it's a a big part of the learning process! I enjoy teaching using real-world materials, and helped tutor a nun in conversational English while she was working on her PhD. In universities, my students got to "learn by doing" through working on plays for departmental English festivals and I even had a chance to design my own class based on the popular American show, "The Amazing Race." For their final exam, students from Sungshin Women's University had to design their own "Sungshin Race!"

Deadly! Hallo Zusammen, ich kann die Zusammenarbeit mit Melissa nur empfehlen. Sie bereitet sich gut auf jede Stunde vor und adaptiert die Aufgaben an meine Bedürfnisse (Marketing relevante Vokabeln). Besonders zu empfehlen ist dies online Training für Personen, die Ihre Sprachkenntnisse verbessern wollen und dies hilft mit einem Native Speaker ungemein. Man hat schließlich keine Chance auf Deutsch zu sprechen!
