About Gregory
My academic credentials include: MA in Education and Human Development, George Washington University (2021), MA in Near Eastern Studies, Princeton University (2009), BA in Cultural Anthropology, Washington University in St. Louis (1995).
I am a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel with experience leading diplomatic teams across North Africa and the Middle East. I have a passion for political news, the economy, current events and analysis of global conflict.
Like you, I have pursued a difficult foreign language throughout my adult life. My foreign language career eventually led me to teach Arabic at the United States Military Academy, West Point. I excelled as an Arabic instructor and I will bring my foreign language teaching skills to your English language career.
My hobbies include gardening, reading, hiking and skiing.

For more advanced students we will access sites like CNN and Fox news to gather perspectives from the left and right of the American political spectrum. We will dive deep into published online sources covering current events, politics, the economy and global conflict. I've spent a lifetime perusing these topics and I am passionate about helping you to gain a professional level of proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

I highly recommend taking lessons with Greg. My conversational English is good but I have always wanted to follow American politics and news online. I have had several lessons with Greg and my ability to read and watch the news in English has improved a lot.
