About Katie
I have always had a passion for correct use of the English language, coming from a quintessentially British part of the English countryside. I find that all too often we hear even native speakers using the language incorrectly, which is detrimental to their own professional outlook and personal branding. With this in mind and an appreciation for the different structures used in other languages, I enjoy finding creative ways to help others. In doing so I hope to help them open doors for the futures which lie ahead of them. With over fifteen years' experience working in business marketing across private education, FMCG, luxury products, sports and construction industries, I have the knowledge required to effectively conduct yourself in a British marketplace. Having worked in all forms of marketing communications with several high-profile releases and celebrity interviews published, I am well known for my writing and proofreading abilities. This attention to detail benefits my students as I am able to guide them not only on their accuracy of language, but also what works well in a professional setting.

All lessons have a practical and enjoyable approach, which are based on students' individual aims, or my own recommendations which we would agree on, following an initial assessment. With each lesson, students can expect to achieve a clear objective with prepared exercises covering vocabulary, using this in context with a clear understanding of meaning, form and pronunciation, and grammar work. Whilst there is a clear structure, you can expect lots of talking and communication throughout our lessons, as well as the opportunity to work through listening, reading and writing exercises, adapted to your individual needs. I also offer specific, business/workplace oriented lessons where we can look to expand your vocabulary and work on pronunciation, as well as general business etiquette and manner when working in or with UK professionals. Thirty-minute individual lessons typically work well, particularly when organised at a set day and time, once or twice per week.
