About Tana
Hi! I’m Tana Monk—a native English teacher specializing in helping kids and teens master reading, grammar, and confident conversation. With my 160 hours TEFL/TEYL certification and 8+ years of experience teaching students from Poland to China, I’ve learned how to make English fun and effective for both young and adult learners. As an American-Filipino who’s lived in Canada, the USA, the Philippines, and New Zealand, I bring a global perspective to lessons. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me playing baseball (yes, I’m a National Team player!), coaching softball, exploring new foods, or cuddling my dogs. I will assess your oral speaking, and we can talk about the areas you need to work on. My courses focus on Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening. I can help you improve these skills through visual materials, including short readings, dialogues, listening tasks, comprehension questions, and discussion time. Mock tests and homework may be given as well.
