For example, one of my students struggled with essay writing, particularly in structuring arguments for IGCSE English. Instead of simply providing templates, I used guided questioning and real-world examples to help them understand how logical flow and coherence work in writing. By breaking essays into sections and comparing them to something familiar—like building a house where each paragraph acts as a supporting pillar—they grasped the importance of structured thought. Over time, they became more independent in their approach, and by exam season, they no longer needed step-by-step guidance—they had developed the confidence to analyze texts on their own. About the lesson
