About Nora
I am a native French speaker and a PGCE, QTS and CELTA-qualified teacher with more than 20 years’ experience, predominantly in secondary schools in England. I have taught French across KS3, GCSE, A-level and NVQ programmes, supporting students with varied abilities and learning needs.
Having lived in France and the UK, I bring an authentic understanding of both languages and cultures to my teaching. I keep my resources current with curriculum developments, examination requirements and learners’ needs.
I also offer personalised French tuition to adults and professionals for professional and workplace communication, travel and everyday conversation.
I love seeing students become confident linguists. Beyond the mechanics of the language, I explore the cultural, historical and social contexts that develop a well-rounded understanding of the French-speaking world—and hopefully inspire confident French speakers and enthusiastic Francophiles.

My lessons are carefully tailored to each learner’s level, goals and preferred learning style. I begin by identifying strengths and areas for development, then create a clear learning plan focused on measurable progress.
For GCSE and A-level students, lessons are aligned with AQA and Pearson Edexcel examination requirements. They develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills alongside grammar, vocabulary and effective examination technique. I use targeted practice, authentic materials and constructive feedback to build accuracy, confidence and independence.
For adults and professionals, I provide practical, personalised French lessons focused on individual needs, including workplace communication, meetings, presentations, professional vocabulary and everyday conversation.
Lessons generally last one hour. When appropriate, I also set and mark work between lessons to consolidate learning and support continued progress.
