About Aliou
Hello! My name is Mamadou Aliou, and I am a native French speaker from Senegal, a French-speaking country in West Africa. I completed my high school diploma (baccalauréat) in Senegal, where all my studies were done in French.
I now live in Toronto and study at Collège Boréal, a French-language college, where I take my courses in French every day. This keeps my French sharp and up to date with the Canadian school context.
I am also learning English myself, so I truly understand what it feels like to learn a new language: the doubts, the mistakes and the satisfaction of making progress. This experience helps me be patient, encouraging and attentive to each student's difficulties.
I am serious, punctual and well organized. I prepare every lesson in advance and I always keep parents informed about their child's progress.
I look forward to helping you or your child succeed in French!

Learning French should be enjoyable, not stressful! As a native French speaker, I help students build confidence and make real progress at their own pace.
Who my lessons are for:
- Elementary and high school students in French immersion or core French
- Adults who want to improve their conversation skills or start from the beginning
My approach:
I adapt every lesson to the student's level, goals and school program. I explain grammar and conjugation simply, with clear examples, and I put a strong focus on speaking so students feel comfortable using French in real life.
A typical lesson (60 minutes):
1. Quick conversation warm-up to practice speaking
2. Review of homework or the current school topic
3. New lesson: grammar, vocabulary or reading comprehension
4. Practice exercises and games to reinforce learning
5. Short summary and small goals for the next lesson
What makes me different:
French is my native language, so students learn natural, everyday French with correct pronunciation. I am also a college student myself, so I understand the challenges of studying and I know how to make lessons patient, friendly and motivating.
