About Tom
I am born in France between Bordeaux and Toulouse. I am bilingual in French and English. I studied in France up until my baccalaureate (A levels) for which I studied OIB scientific bac. I then did a gap year and travelled to Asia with my best friend and decided to take a year and join a music school for which I got a scholarship in Bordeaux. The following year I started my undergraduate course at Uni of Leeds where I studied Chinese and International Relations.

I personalise my lessons accordingly to my student's needs. Each lesson will consist of at least one or a few of the following; reading, translation, vocabulary learning, pronunciation training, speaking training, grammar, and conjugation. Based on the student's pace and ability, the lessons will move from one theme to the next and we will go into more depth. I strongly believe in engaging my students so they have fun whilst learning a language. I have seen great results as in my first year I have taught students from 12 years old to 37 years old. I believe there is no right time to learn a language and my experience learning Spanish and later Mandarin at University has given me skills to teach languages effectively. I have trust in my ability as a teacher and I know that no matter what age you are I can make you love the French language.

Tom is a very passionate and competent tutor, who has now been teaching French for some time at A Level and GCSE levels. Having grown up in France with one English parent, he has a perfect grasp of the French language whilst also being able to offer effective explanations in English. He is willing to go the extra mile for his students and is great at adapting to their varying needs. Couldn't recommend more!
