About Bascle

Hi! I'm Emma, a native French speaker who grew up in France and is now pursuing a Master's degree in International Relations at NYU.

My studies have trained me to communicate clearly, work with people from many different cultures, and explain complex ideas simply, all skills I bring to my lessons.

I truly understand what it's like to learn a foreign language. I learned English thanks to my American au pair, and that experience taught me something essential: the best way to improve is to practice, to speak, and to hear yourself speak.

That's exactly the approach I want to share with my students.
I'm new to tutoring, but I've often helped my friends improve their French, and I really enjoy seeing someone gain confidence when speaking. I'm patient, attentive and genuinely passionate about sharing my language and culture!

As a graduate student, I'm organized, reliable and punctual. Whether you want to discover French, travel, work abroad or simply feel more at ease in conversation, I'll adapt to your pace and goals, in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. I look forward to meeting you!

About the lesson

I'm a native French speaker from Paris and Lyon and I love helping people discover my language and culture. I'm new to tutoring, which means you'll get my full attention, lots of flexibility, and lessons built entirely around you, not a rigid textbook program.

My approach: I believe the best way to learn French is to actually use it. From the very first lesson, we'll speak as much as possible, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where mistakes are welcome. I'll correct you gently and explain grammar only when it helps you express yourself better.

A typical lesson:
- A short chat to warm up and review what we saw last time
- A main activity based on your goals: conversation, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, or a text, song or video
- Practical exercises to use what you've just learned
- A quick recap and a few ideas to practice on your own

Who are my lessons for? Beginners who want to start from scratch, intermediate learners who want to gain confidence speaking, and anyone preparing a trip, a move to a French-speaking country, or simply curious about French culture.

Tell me your goals and let's build your lessons together!
