About Madison
I am a native German speaker, born in the same city the Brother Grimms are from. I have a special fondness for creative writing and linguistics. I used to study English and American Studies and Sociology in University and went to England for the first time during a semester abroad. (Even ended up marrying someone I met during that time.) I already have some tutoring experience and worked with children and young adults of all ages while volunteering with a musical company. I am very adaptable when it comes to how I approach my teaching, not all students benefit from the same methods, therefore it is necessary to try out a few different ones and figuring out which ones work the best.

I have previously worked with children teaching English to German students (age 13-16) and have given creative writing courses to people of varying ages. Understanding the background and culture of a language is key to learning it. This is something I deeply believe in as it has been true in every case I have seen. I am happy to explain in as much detail as you would like and would love to include your interests into the lesson, whether that is politics, specific pieces of media or hobbies. I am not afraid to admit if I cannot fully explain something properly, but am always ready to research in order to be able to improve myself and my teaching. Let's see your progress together and find some joy in learning about a new language and culture.
