About Miriam

I have been teaching all kinds of levels and ages. I studied at the University of Leipzig, Germany, where I obtained a BA in German as a Foreign Language and a BA in British studies. During my stay in Paris as an Erasmus student for 2 semesters, I learned French. Currently, I am finishing my MA in German as a Foreign Language while teaching online and offline.

About the lesson

Guten Tag!

Do you want to learn German online? Well, I am here to help you! I am Miriam from Germany, an experienced and passionate German teacher.

The methods I am using are very up-to-date, perfect for online teaching and very motivating as you will see your progress easily.

For my classes I use digital coursebooks from Klett:
Adult beginners (A1, A2): “Netzwerk neu”
Intermediate and advanced adult learners (B1, B2, C1): “Aspekte neu”
Young learners (A1, A2, B1): “Klasse!”

All course books by Klett are meeting the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and are therefore the perfect preparation for all standard German Tests (such as Goethe-Zerfikat, TestDAF etc.). They offer a perfect mix of reading comprehension, listening comprehension, speaking, writing, grammar and phonetics. The course book serves as a guideline for me as a teacher but also for you as a student, however my lessons are enriched with other materials and media (such as vides, articles, podcasts etc.) which I adapt to the students needs and interests.

My lessons combine the teaching of new grammatical structures, vocabulary and useful phrases to get you speaking very quickly! The practice of writing and more profound grammar exercises are more likely to take place during homework.

In addition to my lessons, I offer a supervised homework assignment that completes each lesson and consolidates the knowledge acquired during the class. This is done with the free app “Blinklearning”, you just have to buy the exercise book. This app allows me as a teacher to see which exercises you still have difficulties with, so that I can adapt my lessons more closely to your needs. In addition, I can correct written exercises directly and you will receive feedback.

Lessons take place on Zoom. Other tools I work with: Google Jamboard, Google Doc, Quizlet.
