About Bibi

Born in Switzerland to an Italian family, I moved to London in 2007 to graduate in Business, Marketing and Finance. I then completed two masters degree in Music Industry Management and Events, and Intellectual Property Law. While completing my studies I worked in the music industry - in diverse roles ranging from tour management and logistics to marketing and events planning - and as translator and interpreter. Most of my written translations were related to music topics such as artists biographies, press packs, album press releases, events descriptions and invitations. As an interpreter, I worked at the London Wine Fair (English / French), for the Vidal Sassoon Academy (master course for Italian groups), art tours (English / French and English / Italian) and Pure, the fashion trading fair (English / Italian). Four years ago I transitioned into a new industry and worked as a Marketing Communications Manager for a tech-focussed VC fund; here I also completed regular translations tasks - in particular official press releases, marketing material and blogs, all related to investments and different types of Internet of Things technologies.

About the lesson

From my personal experience as a language student, I know that what works for one person might not work for another, therefore I always try to vary my methods in order to facilitate as much as possible the learning process for the student and my methodology and references can change accordingly. I teach from lower intermediate to upper-intermediate and above; the class structure depends on the student's requirements but would mostly contain some grammar, writing (exercise or correction of written homework) and speaking (free dialogue or on a prepared topic). I can focus the class on specific topics if required (business, travel, day-to-day, art, music). Happy to discuss your requirements and make the best plan to get you going in no time :)
